I can't believe this is still going on!

http://www.millionvoicesfordarfur.org/index.php?page=darfurThese stories are simply heartbreaking, and I am outraged that Bush is not doing more to stop it. No, let's go start a fight with Iraq over oil and invisible WMDs. Nevermind all the suffering these people are going through right now. This is horrible.

I am outraged by much of what Bush does, and does NOT do. Sadly, though, I am no longer shocked by it. I think so far the thing I have been most angry was his handling of Katrina. Our own country looked like a third world country. Our people were suffering and dying, while he did nothing. I am sorry, but sitting around doing nothing, aside from sending our men and women to die in a country that wants us to leave, trying to impose OUR way of government on this country...I have absolutely no respect left for the man, I honestly don't. In fact, I am tired of republicans in general, well, the ones in Washington. Thankfully it's an election year, and maybe we canget them out of office. SOrry, I went off on a bit of a rant in your journal. :P I did not mean to. I will stop.

What exactly would you have the President do? Send in the military? How is that any different from Iraq? If we forcibly intervene to solve Africa's problems, is that any better than colonialism?

I don't really wish to debate the matter much, but, I would have to say that IMO, the people of Darfur need us (and would probably most definitely welcome us) a lot more that the Iraquis right now. Iraq doesn't even want us there anymore and yet we're still there.

I didn't read the thread you axed, which is why I didn't say anything about it when he brought it up. I saw it on the forum list though, and I read the first few sentences and then hit Back because it seemed like a joke and didn't make any sense to me. So I was surprised when I saw him complaining. The thing is, in that forum, you have to use your descretion as to what is acceptable and what is just plain useless.
